It all starts with a system that anyone can follow. McDonald's has one of the best marketing plans on the planet and uses it to sell average burgers.
That is one of the most important reasons they are so successful. The other reason is their system. It is easy to duplicate because it is so simple. It is laid out with specific tools and instructions.
Duplication is one of the biggest problems in home based businesses. Most people are taught a system that takes a salesman's personality to be successful. These "old school" methods are from before the Internet though.
McDonald's is one of the biggest global corporations and it is being run by high school kids. You could trace every job there down to 3 basic chores.
1. Take orders. 2. Provide customer service. 3. Train new people to take orders and provide customer service.
That's the whole company. All operations come down to kids pushing the on buttons and the system doing the rest. It is all about duplication.
No matter which store you go to the experience is virtually the same and that is why people keep going back. The food is predictable even though it may be average.
You should have your MLM or network marketing business working the same way. Usually what is missing is an actual lead generation system that is complete with tools and instructions that, when followed, is very effective.
Network marketing is a business model that is supposed to gain value over time like a CD or a mutual fund. When you hear a speaker tell his story stating that all he did was make a "warm list" and share the product and opportunity with his friends and was able to quit his full time job within a few months, usually the part about learning the ropes with another company is left out.
Sometimes there are quick successes but it is rare because you really have to be a leader to succeed in this industry. So you must learn a lot not only about being a leader but running your own business before you will have success.
If you had the right system laid out with tools and instructions it could be easy enough for kids to do. There is a correct order to follow to be successful too. If this order is followed from the beginning you can cut your learning curve way down.
Most people start out with what should be last, the product or network marketing opportunity. The business is all about relationships and even using a fool proof system to generate leads is only part of the job. The other part is picking up the phone and calling your leads.
But you have to start by finding leads. The fool proof system is a 3 part process. First you expose your product with advertising. Second you involve your prospects with follow up messages to qualify them and provide solutions. Last comes your primary MLM.
Skip steps and you will struggle. Each step gives more info and leads into the next step. The first step, expose, is just that but instead of exposing your prospects to your MLM you show and sell them a self-liquidating offer which is a low cost marketing system that trains people to generate leads for their business.
You can erase your marketing investment and earn advertising money by doing this. With a self liquidating offer or a funded proposal that is loaded with tools and services for marketing you can EARN while you LEARN.
The first step is a solution for struggling marketers because it shows them how to generate leads and the second step shows the how to automate and multiply their efforts.
All of the products and services you promote to them are affiliates that create multiple streams of income for you. Part three introduces them to your primary and by this time they have come to like and trust you.
Once you provide real solutions you become valuable to them and are considered a leader. People do not join companies they join people who are leaders.
A lot of people fail because they start out by promoting their primary opportunity and product which is really step three of the process. Most people get into business to make money and are misled about the time, effort, and money it takes to be successful in this industry and wind up spending themselves right out of business.
There are many businesses that use this same business model. The car business is one of them. Do you think that making and selling cars brings in most of the money in that industry? I doesn't. They make the majority of their money with extras, service, parts, and finance charges.
McDonald's is another example. Most of their money is not made from selling burgers, it is everything else like fries, drinks, cheese, etc... that they make the most profit from.
What about Vegas? They advertise shows and restaurants and luxurious hotels to get you there and then they make the real money off of gambling.
System part 1 is the ads that show the showgirls and the lights. System part 2 is the customer service they provide which is famous. Then they get you with the gambling but that is not the focus of their advertising.
Generating leads with a system is important because using a limited contact list for leads is very inefficient but it is only part of the job. The other part is just as important and it involves calling and building a relationship with those leads. But having a system to make their job easier gives you a great subject to talk about.
