Welcome to the world’s biggest democracy, India. The country is home to more than a billion people and therefore you should definitely go ahead and give it a try and visit India. Of course, you might have heard and seen in many documentaries that there is poverty and dirt everywhere but that is just a minor part of what you see. The land of India has been known for its culture, tradition and art for thousands of years and many people from all over the world come to India to understand why the people of India have still hold on tightly to their ancient traditions and culture despite being one of the super powers in the entire Asia.

If you want to tour India than let’s begin from the north and you can take a flight to New Delhi which is the capital city of the country, where decisions of future India are made. New Delhi is one of the bustling metropolises of the country and was once ruled by the Mughals. You will find many Islamic landmarks and structures here in New Delhi which are really elegant and you might be baffled at the level of architecture the buildings have. Landmarks like India Gate, Lotus Temple, Jama Masjid and Red Fort are some important buildings that you should not miss when you are in New Delhi. You can travel further to Agra and there you will come across the most amazing piece of architecture, the Taj Mahal, which is now a World Heritage site.

On the western side of India stands another bustling city that does not require any introduction, the city of Mumbai. Mumbai is what New York is to the United States and therefore if you are looking for non stop entertainment than you can head towards Mumbai. The city has everything you can think of, from old buildings to historic landmarks, pubs, clubs, movies, entertainment, shopping, beaches, art galleries, museums, parks, restaurants and lots more. You can enjoy your holidays 24 hours a day when you are in Mumbai because the city never sleeps.

A little down south of Mumbai is Goa, a land of beaches. This place has become one of the top tourist destinations in India and in Asia as well and more and more international tourist come here to enjoy Indian summer and the beaches that are the main attraction of this place. Founded and ruled by the Portuguese in the earlier days, Goa now is a small state where you can enjoy your holidays.

Kolkata on the eastern side of India is a city dominated by art and literature and therefore if you are an art fan than you must definitely checkout this city. You will be enjoying your time eating some of the best Bengali sweets and cuisines when you are in the Land of Howrah Bridge.

Further down south you can visit the city of Chennai which is another metropolis where you will find a lot of art and dance. You can find some of the best beaches and South Indian cuisines when you are in Chennai.
