As the news fills up with story after story about the latest pandemic to strike, and fills you with fear as they are meant to do, don t worry since the government will protect you. They have contracted with their friends in the drug industry to create a shot that will shield you from this deadly virus. There s just one problem. It hasn t been properly tested as most new drugs and vaccines are. The typical length of time it takes for a new drug to get approval and come to market is usually measured in years and for a vaccine it s between 5 and six months.

So governments worldwide are very worried about swine flu approaching pandemic levels and are doing everything they can to speed up development and production of a vaccine to treat it.. It has been estimated that more than 200 million doses of the vaccine will be needed, and there is no way that enough vaccine can be manufactured in time, so the government has fast tracked the use of adjuvants to boost the strength of the vaccine thereby reducing the amount necessary in each dose. And therein lies the problem.

As far as I know, there has never been an adjuvant approved for use with flu vaccines in the U.S. and now it looks likely that the government will give approval to the use of several vaccines which contain adjuvants, without the proper testing. In fact, one of the adjuvants being tested for use with the swine flu vaccine is squalene.

It has been reported that vaccinations which contained squalene were given to gulf war veterans that reported cases of Gulf War Syndrome. Since that time, many veterans that received these vaccinations have reported varying illnesses, many of them of the auto immune kind. Which simply means the body s immune system doesn t just attack an invader, such as a virus, as it normally does. It attacks the body itself, in the joints arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis, the lungs as in chronic bronchial infections. The list of diseases linked to squalene goes on and on. And it apparently worsens as times goes on.

So this little missive is just to warn any concerned person or parent as the government seems hell bent on making these vaccinations available to school age children about the dangers that such vaccinations might represent. Remember that drug companies stand to make hundreds of millions of dollars of profit very quickly and with very little work on their part and so they might not be too squeamish if any ill effects present themselves to the vaccinated years down the road.

I don t know what would motivate the powers that be to approve the use of an adjuvant with such a checkered past, but I do know I ll be refusing any vaccine that includes an adjuvant that hasn t been properly tested, and especially one that contains squalene in any form.
