Aside from the fact that your crowning glory is your first striking feature, you should care whether you’re losing hair or not because most hair related conditions actually have remedies. Sometimes, it’s as simple as reversing a lifetime of bad hair related habits.

Do You Feel Betrayed?

Let’s assume that you’re one of the millions around the world that try their best to preserve the way their hair looks, feels and holds even in the harshest conditions (like rain or extreme sun).

Let’s also assume that as an Ordinary Joe, you invest a certain fraction of your monthly budget to different hair care products. Now, most of these hair care products would be devoted to cleaning your hair, keeping it shiny and soft, and of course, keeping it tangle free. Some of these products, on the other hand, would be devoted to styling your glorious mane.

For a few years, you sustain your little personal hair rituals. Let’s say you hit your thirties (finally) or forties. You keep out of the sun and rain, and you even take multivitamins that supposedly take care of your nails, skin and hair. And then it happens.

Your hair begins to fall out. The problem begins with a few strands (still negligible). Then it the process becomes more savage, more uncontrollable. Your hair begins to fall out in clumps, and these begin to clog your shower drain.

Do Not Despair!

Do not despair. Do not blame yourself. Chances are you did take good care of your hair. You probably are aware that going to the salon to often actually does more harm than good. You probably are also aware that certain hair care products can cause chemical burning when applied to keratin formations such as the hair.

So why are you losing all your hair? Why is your hair line receding, and why do you find your morning mirror rituals increasingly depressing?

Like millions of other people suffering from hair loss, you probably are a victim of your own genetic predisposition. It is official folks; heredity plays a crucial role in transmitting, of all things, baldness.

Male pattern baldness, specifically, is transmitted from generation to generation. So if you’re experiencing it now, and your father or mother are still enjoying full heads of hair, then you probably have a shiny headed ancestor a few generations back.

What to Do Now?

Given, balding doesn’t mean the end of the world. Some people actually embrace baldness and make a bold statement to the world by having all their hair shaved. While some people have the guts to embrace a shiny head, not everyone can do it. Many people are actually horrified with the thought of losing their hair.

What’s the easiest way out of a ‘balding’ situation? Some people invest in spray on colorants. These colorants create fake ‘hair’ so that people won’t have to spend hours in front of the mirror trying to brush sparse hair into ‘empty’ territory. Some people prefer wigs; however, wigs aren’t the cheapest things around.

Still some folks go the extra mile and have transplants. While transplants might not be for everyone, the approach does work for some people, and many people who have undergone the procedure are quite happy with the results.
